Overview

HyperArc is a macOS desktop application that indexes and searches your media files locally. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, what we do not collect, and how we handle information.

Data We Do NOT Collect

  • We never receive, upload, or access your files (videos, images, audio, PDFs).
  • We never receive or store your Gemini API key.
  • We do not require an account, sign-up, or login to use HyperArc.
  • We do not use analytics, tracking pixels, or third-party advertising scripts in the desktop app.

How HyperArc Works

HyperArc processes your files entirely on your Mac. When you index a folder, the app reads your files locally, generates embeddings by sending data to the Google Gemini API using your own API key, and stores the resulting embeddings in a local SQLite database on your machine. Search queries run 100% offline against your local database.

The only network call HyperArc makes is to Google's Gemini API — using your key, from your machine. Google's handling of that data is governed by Google's API Terms of Service.

Local Storage

  • Embeddings and metadata are stored in a local SQLite database on your Mac.
  • Your Gemini API key is stored in the macOS Keychain, encrypted by the operating system.
  • License keys (if applicable) are also stored in the macOS Keychain.
  • You can delete all stored data at any time by removing the application and its data folder.

License Verification

If you purchase HyperArc Pro, the app may make a network request to verify your license key with our licensing provider (Lemon Squeezy). This request includes only the license key itself — no personal files or usage data are transmitted.

Website

The HyperArc website (hyperarc.app) does not use cookies for tracking. We may use privacy-friendly analytics to understand aggregate page views. No personal data is sold or shared with third parties.

Third-Party Services

  • Google Gemini API — Used for generating embeddings. Governed by your agreement with Google.
  • Lemon Squeezy — Processes payments and license keys. Governed by Lemon Squeezy's Privacy Policy.

Children's Privacy

HyperArc is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of HyperArc after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
